Spread the love

“#RoyalBaby” this is the hashtag you will see on almost every social media platform at the moment. That’s because it’s all joy at the Buckingham Palace in the United Kingdom as another baby has just arrived. Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and wife, Meagan Markle, Duchess of Sussex have welcomed their first baby today May 6, 2019.

A statement released on the couple’s official instagram page read ‘’we are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019’’

The new baby boy was born weighing 3.26 kg at 5:26 am. In a nod to tradition, a framed notice announcing the arrival of the royal baby went on display this morning outside Buckingham Palace on a ceremonial ease. The framed noticed added that mother and child are doing well.

A very excited Prince Harry gave his first reaction to the Press at Windsor Castle moments after the birth of his son and this is an excerpt of what he said “I’m so incredibly proud of my wife and as every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon.”

Prime Minister Theresa May has congratulated the royal couple on the birth on their first child. In a tweet, she said “Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the arrival of their baby boy. Wishing you all the best at this happy time.”

The US former first lady, Michelle Obama also tweeted a message of congratulation “Congratulations, Meghan and Harry! Barack and I are so thrilled for both of you and can’t wait to meet him. #RoyalBaby

Ellen DeGeneres in a rather funny tweet also sent a message of congratulation to the couple “The #royalbaby is here! Congratulations, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The baby is 7th in line for the throne, which is crazy, because right now I’m 7th in line for the key-making kiosk at my grocery store. @RoyalFamily’’

The royal baby is the Queen of England’s 8th great grandchild and is 7th in line to the throne. The child is expected to be given a name in the days ahead. Official images of the baby are also expected within two days.
