What a Dramatic qualification for Cameroon.

Cameroon Indomitable lionesses have brilliantly qualified for the knockout stages of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in France after beating New Zealand by 2 goals to 1.

The lionesses who finished third in their group stayed braved and exhibited a strong fighting spirit throughout 90 + 5 minutes of play. Before the end of the first 45mins, the players could not find the back of the net after several shots by the indefatigable and prolific Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene.

The game changer came few minutes into the second 45 minutes when Nchout Njoya Ajara opened scores for the girls keeping their hopes of moving into the next round alive.

The excitements and jubilation that this goal brought however didn’t last for long when Aurele Awona scored own goal at the 78 minute of play bringing scores to 1 – 1.

Several persistent attempts by the girls of Coach Alain Djeumfa to score a second goal proved fruitless. Though the lionesses were seemingly losing it all, one thing they definitely didn’t lose was hope and fought like the lionesses that they are until the last second.

In the last second of the additional five minutes when we thought it had all ended in Montpellier, Nchout Njoya Ajara brilliantly and miraculously netted in the winner goal, qualifying the lionesses for the round of 16.

The lionesses have qualified on the basis of being one of the best third-place four teams. Although they finished on three points, same as Nigeria, they went through courtesy of a better fair play record between the two African squads.

It has all ended happily for Cameroon in Montpellier and Njoya Ajara has been voted as the lady of the match. She says she is extremely happy and is dedicating the win to the people of Cameroon who are in dire need of peace.
