The chairman of Cameroon’s leading opposition party, The Social Democratic Front, Ni John Fru Ndi has been released after spending over 24 hours in the camp of his abductors. According to family sources, Chairman Fru Ndi arrived at his Ntarinkon residence in Bamenda yesterday Saturday May 29 at 9:30 Pm.
The circumstances leading to his release are still unknown. The reason for his kidnap and the location where he was taking to is also unknown. Ni John Fru is expected to speak in the hours ahead where some of these questions will probably be answered.
Chairman Ni John Fru Ndi was kidnapped on Friday May 28, 2019 at about 3:30 pm after unknown gunmen stormed his residence, shot his driver in the leg before taking him away.
