ACHOUKA Ship Sinks In Limbe With Over 200 Passengers.
A ship having more than 200 passengers on board from Nigeria heading to Tiko, South West Region of Cameroon has sunk in the middle of the high seas.
The said ship by name AUSTHREIM, a ship belonging to ACHOUKA went down yesterday Sunday evening around Bakassi.
According to information we gathered, the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) has managed to save about 106 passengers of the said 200 passengers on board.
Officials say it is still unclear what caused the the ship to sink but preliminary investigations showed it encounter bad weather.
Latest updates from Equinoxe TV say three other passengers have been confirmed dead.
Apart from Cameroonians and Nigerians, the nationalities of other passengers who were on board is still to be established as well.
It should be recalled that it’s been barely over 3 months after another Ship BRENDA COLETTE of the same company ACHOUKA went up in flames at the TIKO Wharf completely destroying goods worth Millions of FCFA.
