Jumia Shuts Operations In Cameroon

Cameroonian born technology entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Apps Tech, Rebecca Enonchong has reported that the e-commerce store Jumia has shut down its operations in Cameroon.

Rebecca wrote on Twitter “ Jumia shut down its Cameroon operations this morning, firing its staff, no public announcement, no special word from the Group or its CEO.”

Enonchong adds that Jumia’s had very poor relationships with its staff and other stakeholders, and that may possibly be the reason for its demise.

Jumia, an e-commerce company with Headquarters in Nigeria has been operating in Cameroon for over 5 years.
