Some very heartbreaking news for sports lovers as Former Dallas Cowboys running back has died at the age of 38. The team confirmed this on Wednesday, June 02, 2022.

He was found dead in his apartment.

Barber had issues with mental health after ending his career in 2011. He played a final season with Chicago in 2011, though he had spent his first six years with the Cowboys.

Police in the Dallas suburb of Frisco said on Wednesday that in order to investigate the unattended death, they made a welfare check at an apartment believed to be leased by Barber.

The Cowboys, whose headquarters is also in Frisco have said they areā€œheartbroken by the tragic death of Marion Barber III.

According to them, Marion was an old-school, hard-nosed football player who ran with the will to win every down, and he also had a passion for the game and love for his coaches and teammates.

Marion Barber who has now passed away was an American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons.

Marion’s career was absolutely an incredible one. He had a fourth-round draft pick by Dallas in 2005 and had 24 touchdowns in 2006-07. His career-high was 14 TDs in 2006 when he rushed for just 654 yards.

He 2007, he had a career-high 975 yards rushing and 10 TDs and that was when he made his only Pro Bowl. He was however not as prolific after then and he had career lows in carries, yards, and touchdowns in his final year in Dallas in 2010.

He ended his career in 2011 and just three years later, he was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.
